🚨 Monday: Denver Public Schools Wants Special Ed Paras

Arapahoe/Douglas Works!, the public workforce center for Arapahoe and Douglas counties, lists the DPS hiring event for noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday. The district is recruiting for one role: special education paraprofessional, the adult in the room who works alongside teachers to support students with disabilities.

The listing is thin on specifics. It does not publish pay, minimum qualifications, or which schools are hiring, so ask all three at the table. You can browse the open para postings ahead of time on the DPS careers site, which is also where the actual application lives. Questions before Monday go to the number on the listing, 720-432-6800.

One thing to know before you drive out: the event is in Aurora, but the jobs are in Denver Public Schools buildings, so think about your commute to the city, not to East Alameda.

Tuesday, Nov. 10: Kelly Education, No Experience Needed

The Kelly Education session is the lower-barrier door into a classroom. Kelly hires substitute teachers and paraprofessionals and places them in Aurora Public Schools, and the listing says no experience is needed. A high school diploma or an associate degree gets you in.

The pitch is flexibility: you pick your schools and grade levels and control your own schedule, with no nights, weekends, holidays or summers. Kelly lists weekly pay, paid orientation, free training and group insurance options. It does not publish an hourly rate, so ask. Information sessions start every 30 minutes, so you do not need to be there at 1:00 sharp. Bring a resume and a valid ID.

⚠️ Different Events, Different Employers

These are two separate employers hiring for two separate districts. DPS on Monday hires for Denver schools on its own payroll. Kelly on November 10 is a staffing company placing people in Aurora Public Schools. If you want to work in Aurora classrooms, skip Monday and wait for Kelly. If you want Denver, Monday is your day.

Same Monday, different job: the USPS job fair runs 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on October 26 at the Denver mail plant on East 53rd Place. Our USPS job fair guide has the details.
