What Macy's Announced for the 2026 Holiday Season

Macy's, Inc. laid out its season in a September 24 holiday hiring announcement. The company is hiring seasonal workers across its Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury stores and select supply chain sites, with in-person hiring days on September 24, October 22 and November 19. Macy's applicants can also submit a recorded interview online.

Here's the honest part. Macy's named 10 top hiring markets for its stores this year, and Denver isn't on the list. The hiring days still run nationwide, and all five metro stores are open and heading into the season. Macy's has not published a headcount for Colorado or any single store, and we won't guess at one.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Five Stores, Five Corners of the Metro

Cherry Creek. The only one of the five inside Denver city limits, at 15 S. Steele St. in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. It's the easy pick for Capitol Hill, Washington Park and Glendale. Call (303) 390-2200.

Aurora. Town Center at Aurora sits on East Alameda just off I-225. Call (303) 214-1860. Bonus: the Aurora Public Schools walk-in runs that same morning, 10 a.m. to noon, at CentrePoint Plaza a short drive east on Alameda. Different employer, different event, same trip. Details are in our Aurora and Centennial school jobs guide.

Park Meadows. Lone Tree, where I-25 meets C-470. Closest for Highlands Ranch, Centennial and Parker. Call (303) 566-6370.

FlatIron Crossing. Broomfield, off US-36 between Denver and Boulder. Good for Louisville, Superior and Westminster's west side. Call (303) 222-4000.

Orchard Town Center. Westminster, at I-25 and 144th Avenue. Closest for Thornton, Northglenn and Broomfield's east side. Call (303) 457-7333.

πŸ’΅ What It Pays, and Why the Address Matters

Macy's says every job posting lists its pay range, so you see the number before you apply. The company lists colleague discounts, 401(k) savings, access to earned wages before payday and an employee assistance program among its benefits, with medical, dental and vision coverage based on eligibility.

One Denver wrinkle. Denver's citywide minimum wage is $19.29 an hour in 2026, and it covers work performed inside city limits. That makes Cherry Creek the only one of these five stores under the city ordinance. The legal floor is set by the address where you work, not where you live, so compare the posted range store by store before you pick one.

πŸ“‹ How to Show Up Ready on Oct. 22

  • Call the store first. Event hours vary by location.
  • Apply online before you go.
  • Bring photo ID. If you're hired, you'll fill out work-authorization paperwork.
  • Know your availability. Nights, weekends and the days around Thanksgiving are what holiday retail runs on.
