Wayfair Opens Its Denver Store at Northfield November 20

DENVER, CO — The old Macy's at Northfield is about to become something new. Wayfair opens its Denver store on Friday, November 20, a two-story, roughly 140,000-square-foot showroom at 8298 E. Northfield Blvd. in the Central Park neighborhood. It is the online home retailer's fourth large-format store and its first in the Mountain West, and a building that size needs a real crew on the floor and in the back.

Doors open in three weeks. No headcount has been announced, so get your resume ready and watch Wayfair's careers site for Denver store postings.

🏢 What Is Opening at Northfield

Wayfair set the date in an October 19 announcement. The store fills the former Macy's box at the open-air center off I-70 and Central Park Boulevard, alongside anchors like Bass Pro Shops and Target. Inside: 19 departments covering furniture, decor, housewares, mattresses and more, plus dedicated space for free design services.

The grand opening runs all weekend, with in-store sales, $50 gift cards for the first 100 customers each day and family activities. Expect crowds. That matters if you hope to work there, because a store that opens busy tends to keep hiring after the ribbon is cut.

💼 The Jobs a Store This Size Needs

Wayfair has not said how many people the Denver store will employ, and we are not going to guess. What we can say is what a two-floor furniture showroom structurally runs on: sales associates on the floor, design consultants working with shoppers, a back-of-house logistics team receiving, staging and loading large pieces, cashiers and customer service, and a layer of store leadership.

Timing is the catch. With opening day three weeks out, much of the launch team is likely already in training. The next openings usually come after launch, once a new store sees its real traffic, and the holiday rush lands right on top of this opening. Watch the Wayfair careers site and filter for the Physical Retail team.

💵 The Wage Floor Here Is Denver's

Northfield sits inside Denver city limits, so the city's 2026 minimum wage of $19.29 an hour applies to work done at this store, per the Denver Labor office. The address where the work is performed decides the floor, not where you live. Aurora's line is only a few miles east, and stores there follow different rules. That floor is a minimum, not a going rate: check the pay posted on each listing, and the rate adjusts again on January 1.
